DUSHANBE, May 3, 2016, Asia-Plus -- Ballot papers for the upcoming constitutional referendum will be published in four languages – Tajik, Russian, Uzbek, and Kyrgyz, an official source at the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER) told Asia-Plus in an interview.

“4.3 million copies will be published in Tajik and ballot papers in the Russian, Uzbek and Kyrgyz languages will be sent to the areas of compact residence of Russian-speaking peoples, ethnic Uzbeks and ethnic Kyrgyz,” the source said.

The ballot paper will contain only one question: “Do you accept changes and addenda made to the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan?” and two response options (answer choices): “Yes” and “No.”

Tajikistan is set to hold a referendum on constitutional amendments on May 22 that would allow incumbent President Emomali Rahmon to run for office for an indefinite number of times.
