DUSHANBE, July 21, 2015, Asia-Plus -- Chinese national In Suan-de (phonetically spelled), who is director of the Dushanbe-based limited liability company Sad Daryo (Hundred Rivers), has been detained for an attempt to give a 3 million somoni bribe to an anticorruption officer.

Olim Zabirzoda, a spokesman for the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, says the anticorruption officers have revealed facts of doctoring, large-scale embezzlement and other financial crimes while checking the company’s activities for the period from 2011 to the first half-year of 2015.

The company top manager attempted to give a 3 million somoni bribe to an anticorruption officer in early July.  In Suan-de and his interpreter Ulughbek Ahrorov were detained.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against In Suan-de under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 32 – criminal attempt; and Article 320 – bribery or bribery attempt.

His interpreter faces charge of not reporting crime.
