Kazakhstan becomes the third strategic partner of Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, September 14, 2015, Asia-Plus -- Kazakh president’s official visit to Tajikistan has resulted in signing of a number of cooperation documents.

On September 14, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev signed here an agreement on the strategic partnership.

Kazakhstan is the third country with whom Tajikistan signed such an agreement.  Earlier, Tajikistan signed the strategic partnership agreements with Russia (2004) and China (2013).

Besides, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan signed a government-to-government agreement on technical protection of information.

The Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Sports  signed a cooperation agreement.

The foreign ministries of the two countries signed a program of cooperation designed for 2016-2017.

The two sides also signed a protocol on making changes and addenda to the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan on labor activity and protection of rights of labor migrants of the two countries.

They also signed a protocol on making changes and addenda to the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan on cooperation in the field of education, which was signed on June 13, 2000.
