New Belarusian ambassador to Tajikistan appointed

DUSHANBE, March 4, 2016, Asia-Plus – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed new ambassador to Tajikistan.

According to the Belarusian president’s official website, Oleg Ivanov was appointed Belarusian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Tajikistan and also Belarusian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (with concurrent accreditation) on March 3.

President Lukashenko reportedly noted that there were no any problems in relations between Belarus and Tajikistan and “Belarus has strong positions in Tajikistan and very good relations with Tajikistan’s leadership.”  “They are very kind to us, and therefore, we could cooperate from there with countries located next to Tajikistan,” President Lukashenko said.
