Outgoing head of OSCE Office in Tajikistan bids farewell to Tajik foreign minister

DUSHANBE, July 13, 2016, Asia-Plus – Outgoing Head of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, Ambassador Markus Mueller, conferred here yesterday with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov at the end of his tenure to Tajikistan.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed issues related to further expansion of constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Tajik foreign minister reportedly expressed gratitude to Ambassador Mueller for his weighty contribution to expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and OSCE and wished him success in his further activities.  

As one of the largest OSCE field operations, the OSCE Office in Tajikistan is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from arms control, counter-terrorism and border management projects to supporting cross-border markets and free economic zones, human rights, media development, and legal reform initiatives.
