Tajik foreign minister receives visiting Pakistani deputy foreign minister

DUSHANBE, February 9, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov today met here with Mr. Amjad Hussain B. Sial, Special Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, who arrived in Dushanbe to participate in Tajikistan-Pakistan consultations.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two exchanged views on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan.

We will recall that previous bilateral consultations between Tajikistan and Pakistan took place in Islamabad in May last year.

The two sides last year discussed in detail matters of their mutual interest including connectivity via rail and road, direct flights, Trilateral Transit Trade Agreement, energy cooperation including CASA-1000 Power Import Project, cooperation against international terrorism and extremism and security cooperation between the two sides, and regional and international issues.

The meeting also covered wide range of other topics including connectivity via rail and road, direct flights.
